Jonathan is the Director of Financial Services practice at RStudio and the author of Reproducible Finance with R: Code Flows and Shiny Apps for Portfolio Management (CRC Press). He writes the Reproducible Finance blog series for RStudio and his code/apps can be seen at www.reproduciblefinance.com.
Prior to joining RStudio, he worked at JP Morgan. He studied international relations at Harvard University and did graduate work in political economy at Emory University.

Lisa and her team have many successes with Fortune 500, mid-market enterprises and startups to transform their business with innovative technology. She previously held positions as Chief Strategy Officer of a global consulting company, CEO & Founder of a US based software consulting agency and manager with Accenture. She has been recognized as Woman of the Year in the Technology Industry in Colorado.

Lisa joined Fullstory in 2019 as a Data Scientist to help customers solve problems and find answers with data and analysis of the user experience. Previously, she was a Senior Data Scientist at General Electric (GE), where she applied her skills in machine learning and statistics to transform company data into business insights.
Lisa graduated with her Masters in Analytics from Georgia State University. In her free time, she can be found winning hackathon challenges and making the world a better place, one app at a time.

Dr. Jennifer Priestley is the Associate Dean of The Graduate College and the Director of the Analytics and Data Science Institute at Kennesaw State University. In 2012, the SAS Institute recognized Dr. Priestley as the 2012 Distinguished Statistics Professor of the Year. She served as the 2012 and 2015 Co-Chair of the National Analytics Conference. Datanami recognized Dr. Priestley as one of the top 12 “Data Scientists to Watch in 2016.”
Dr. Priestley received a Ph.D. from Georgia State, a MBA from The Pennsylvania State University, where she was president of the graduate student body, and a BS from Georgia Tech.

JOE SUTHERLAND, PHD

Joe Sutherland specializes in Computational Social Science and Text Analytics, applying techniques from computer science to questions of substantive interest in political science and economics. His current research focuses on how to study political representation with text data. Additionally, his academic and popular publications study political behavior, elections, political methodology, natural language processing, and machine learning.
Sutherland’s goal is to make the methods and software developed in his course of doctoral research at Columbia University beneficial to as broad of an audience as possible. His recently published open-source computer vision software has seen incredible adoption by researchers developing text corpora (it has been forked and starred more than 99.9% of projects on GitHub).


STEPHEN WELCH
VP OF DATA SCIENCE, MARINER
Stephen Welch is VP of Data Science at Mariner, where he leads a team developing deep-learning based solutions for manufacturing applications. Prior to working with Mariner, Stephen was VP of Machine Learning at Autonomous Fusion, an Atlanta-based autonomous driving startup, where Stephen lead the design, development, and deployment of machine learning algorithms for autonomous driving.
Stephen is the author of the educational YouTube channel Welch Labs, which has earned 240k+ subscribers and 10M+ views. Stephen holds 10+ US patents, and engineering degrees from Georgia Tech and UC Berkeley.
